Our September meeting gave members a chance to win the Roy Gilbert Cup for the most interesting thematic display.
There were 14 entries in total ranging from early GB covers, egg labels, the Apollo space program, Lundy Island, correspondence from the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) etc.
The winning entry on early British covers was given by Richard Park. Second place went to Julia Todd for a display on Salmon, whilst third place went to David Hunter for a display on the Honey Bee.
The displays demonstrated the huge range of thematic opportunities open to stamp collectors and why stamp collecting is such fun!
